The story behind Diarmaid
Diarmaid was bound by a magical love-spot to Gráinne when she put a geis on him to elope with her on her wedding to the elderly Fionn; the lovers were pursued for years across Ireland, sleeping in dolmens (still called 'Diarmaid and Gráinne's beds') until Diarmaid's death by a magical boar's tusk on Ben Bulben.
